Today’s Chef Special: “COMMIT”

Proverbs 16:3, “Roll your works upon the Lord [COMMIT and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His Will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed” (AMP)

COMMIT” = “Galal”(gah-lahl) Strongs #1556. To Roll, Roll Down, Roll Away, Remove.

In Genesis 29:3, “Galal” Refers to Rolling the Stone From the Well’s Mouth: “And when all the flocks were gathered there, [the shepherds] would ROLL the stone from the well’s mouth, water the sheep, and replace the stone on the well’s mouth” (AMP).

In Joshua 5:9, the Reproach of Egypt is Rolled Off From Israel: “And the Lord said to Joshua, This day have I ROLLED away the reproach of Egypt from you. So the name of the place is called Gilgal [ROLLING] to this day” (AMP).

In This Text, the Reader is Encouraged to Roll His Works Into God’s Care. (See also Psalm 37:5, “COMMIT your way to the Lord [ROLL and repose each care of your load on Him]; trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) also in Him and He will bring it to pass” (AMP).

The Visual Picture is of a Camel, Burdened with a Heavy Load; When the Load is to be Removed, the Camel Kneels Down, Tilts Far to One Side, and the Load Rolls Off.

Also, From “Galal” Numerous Words are Derived, Among Which are “Galgal” (Which Means “Wheel” or “Whirlwind”); “Galil” (Which Means “Galilee”, Literally, “Circuit”, or “District”); “Gulgolet” (Which Means “Golgotha”, Literally, “Skull” or “Head”); and “Megillah” (Which Means “Scroll”).

Today, Determine To Do 2 Things: One, Stop Sharing Your Plans With Everyone Else, When Only God Can Bring Them To Pass (“Share Your Plans WITH THE LORD, And You Will Succeed” Proverbs 16:3 CEV); And Two, When Your Load Is Too Heavy, AGAIN, Stop Going To Other People, And Go To God Instead!

Like the Camel, Humble Yourself (Kneel Down), Tilt in the Direction of Prayer and Unload Your Burdens On Him! “Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully” (1 Peter 5:7 AMP).

Commit It To God And It Will Be Carried Out! “Ask the LORD to bless your plans, and you will be successful in carrying them out” (Proverbs 16:3 GNT).
