Today’s Chef Special: “GREAT SHOUT!”

Ezra 3:11, “And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the LORD: “For He is good, For His mercy endures forever towards Israel.” Then all the people shouted with a GREAT SHOUT, when they praise the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laidNKJV

Great Shout” = “Teru’ah” (teh-roo-ah); Strong’s #8643: A shout of joy, a clamor, blast of trumpets; the sounding of an alarm (especially with a trumpet); a cry of jubilee; a victory shout!

Occurring 36 times, ‘Teru’ah’ is derived from the root verb ‘Ru’a’ meaning ‘to cry out and shout,” whether in alarm or for joy.

Teru’ah’ is an ear-piercing, great noise, a sound that cannot be ignored!

Teru’ah’ describes the shouting of the Israelites when the ark was returning (2 Samuel 6:15, “So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with SHOUTING AND WITH THE SOUND OF THE TRUMPET” NKJV)

In Leviticus 25:9, ‘Teru’ah’ is translated “Jubilee”, literally “Trumpet of the Loud Sound”.

Teru’ah’ is also a significant term in Psalm: “Psalm 27:6, “And now shall my head be lifted up above my enemies round about me; in His tent I will offer sacrifices and SHOUTING OF JOY; I will sing, yes, I will sing praise to the Lord” AMP; Psalm 33:3, “Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully [on strings] with a LOUD AND JOYFUL SOUND” AMP; Psalm 47:5, “God has ascended amid SHOUTING, the Lord with the SOUND OF A TRUMPET” AMP; Psalm 89:15, “Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are the people who know the JOYFUL SOUND [who understand and appreciate the spiritual blessings symbolized by the feasts]; they walk, O Lord, in the light and favor of Your countenance” AMP; Psalm 150:5, “Praise Him with RESOUNDING cymbals; praise Him with LOUD clashing cymbals!” AMP.

TODAY, LOOK BACK OVER YOUR LIFE AND ALL THAT THE LORD HAS BROUGHT YOU THROUGH, AND WHERE HE’S BROUGHT YOU FROM, AND DETERMINE IF HE NEVER DOES ANYTHING ELSE, HE HAS ALREADY DONE ENOUGH TO BE WORTHY OF A GREAT SHOUT! THEN OPEN UP YOUR MOUTH AND GIVE HIM…A GREAT SHOUT!
