Today’s Chef Special: “PATIENCE!”

Hebrews 6:12, “that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and PATIENCE inherit the promises” (NKJV)

“In order that you may not grow disinterested and become [spiritual] sluggards, but imitators, behaving as do those who through faith (by their leaning of the entire personality on God in Christ in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness) and by PRACTICE OF PATIENT ENDURANCE AND WAITING are [now] inheriting the promises.” (AMP)

PATIENCE” = “Makrothumia”(mak-roth-oo-mee-ah) Strongs #3115:

From “Makros” Meaning “Long” and “Thumos” Meaning “Temper”.

The Word Denotes Lenience, Forbearance, Fortitude, Patient Endurance, and Longsuffering.

Also Included In “Makrothumia” Is the Ability to Endure Persecution and Ill-Treatment.

It Describes a Person Who Has the Power to Exercise Revenge But Instead Exercises Restraint!

This Quality Is also a Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22, “But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, PATIENCE (AN EVEN TEMPER, FORBEARANCE), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness.” (AMP)

Today, Remember, Especially When Dealing With Difficult Personalities or Attacks of Persecution, You As a Believer Are Charged To Be Patient, Forbear, Endure and Exercise Longsuffering! Never Forget In All of Our Daily Faults, the Father Treats Us As His Children, and He Is Patient! And Since We Are Made In The Image and Likeness of God, Let Us Make Sure We Exhibit and Reflect…Regardless To Who or What We’re Dealing With…His Image and Likeness!

“The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises, according to some people’s conception of slowness, but He is LONG-SUFFERING (EXTRAORDINARILY PATIENT) TOWARD YOU, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9 AMP)

By the way, did you notice in Hebrews 6:12 (AMP), That The PROMISE COMES AFTER PRACTICING PATIENCE, ENDURANCE AND WAITING!

“…and by PRACTICE OF PATIENT ENDURANCE AND WAITING are [NOW] INHERITING THE PROMISES”.
